Mannheim, Germany, 20.03.2001 COMPAREX, in its role as system integrator, has added digital print solutions to its solutions portfolio and concluded a Reseller Agreement for Europe with HiKIS (Hitachi Koki Imaging Solutions). COMPAREX will market and provide complete support for the network print systems and DDP MicroPress® Cluster Printing Solutions developed by HiKIS. The single-sheet print systems integrated into these solutions originate from HiKIS' parent company, Hitachi Koki, one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-performance laser print systems.
HiKIS markets these solutions exclusively via sales partners and, in COMPAREX, has found the best partner for customers looking for digital print and document management solutions to integrate into their IT structures. COMPAREX's core business involves designing and implementing high availability server and storage infrastructures based on UNIX and Windows. COMPAREX also has many years' experience in production printing for data centres and provides more than 100 of Germany's largest companies with service and support for the various makes of high-performance laser print system which it markets.
COMPAREX will concentrate on marketing the DDP 70 print system and DDP MicroPress® Solution.
The DDP 70 print system, a single-sheet system capable of outputting 70 ppm, has been designed for a monthly output of approximately 400,000 pages and can be integrated into all popular networks by means of a standard Ethernet interface. The print system delivers excellent print quality (resolution 600 dpi) and, equipped with an optional finisher module, offers users a whole range of possibilities for automatic brochure production.
The new DDP MicroPress® solution is based on an NT server system, document management software and raster image processing software and can be upgraded with up to twelve DDP 70 print systems. This ensures high availability, scalable print solutions with a monthly print output of up to 5 million pages.
The MicroPress® software provides users with a whole host of functions for processing images and for selecting and merging documents from a wide range of applications. Internet functions enable the system to be managed via a web browser.
The inclusion of the DDP MicroPress® systems into the COMPAREX portfolio means that these solutions are now also available to customers who, in addition to high-performance print systems, are also looking for an implementation and integration partner with a wealth of expertise in data centre and network environments.
COMPAREX will be presenting the digital print solutions as a new solution module at this year's CeBIT in Hanover, where it will have its own stand in Hall 1, 6 f 4. HiKIS will also be represented at CeBIT in Hall 1 where it will also be giving live demonstrations of the digital print solutions.
